The Ziegenfelder Company begins 2019 with a renewed focus on its employees who make up the Zieggy Tribe. There’s evidence of that with the hunt for a Director of People and Culture.

The Director of People and Culture is a newly created position within the Wheeling-based company. Talent Acquisition Manager Jennifer Bilcze explains a formal description of the position was released just days before the start of 2019.

“Our cultural focus on leadership development and people strategies really began to take off about two to three years ago,” says Bilcze. “A focus on our people has been embraced by the organization, and we are positioning our Tribe to be successful in meeting our growth goals over the next five years.”

The job description says the Director of People and Culture will be responsible for being “our catalyst for change, establishing and nurturing strong relationships built on trust with your character and credibility. Leading with our Ziegenfelder vision and values, you will develop and empower a truly great People and Culture team, as well as collaborate with company and department leaders to understand our strategic goals and build aligned talent strategies to support and enrich our culture, making Ziegenfelder a great place to work.”

The idea of making The Ziegenfelder Company a great place to work ties back to the company’s overall mission to make people smile with really cool treats.

“Our company believes in changing people’s lives,” said Bilcze. “We want to put a smile on the face of our customers while making sure we do that for our Tribe members as well.”
