Open Positions:

Production Staff

Ziegenfelder Production Staff are responsible for:

  • Placing sealed individual units in packaging and ensuring proper package sealing.
  • Repackaging improperly sealed, or coded, product.
  • Disposing of scrap product and raw materials.
  • Keeping work area clean.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Food Service/Production Experience
  • High School/GED

Physical Abilities:

  • Standing up to 12 hours per day.
  • Moving and lifting objects weighing up to 50 lbs. regularly.
  • Bending, twisting, reaching and grasping actions.
  • Good spatial awareness working around manufacturing equipment.

Working Conditions:

  • Subject to cold temperatures of less than 32F for more than one hour with proper protection equipment.
  • May be subject to noise above 85 decibels with proper protection equipment.

Maintenance Technician

A Ziegenfelder Maintenance Technician is responsible for:

  • Ensuring production equipment is set up and maintained to produce quality Ziegenfelder treats ready for delivery to customers.
  • Preparing and configuring machinery for scheduled production runs.
  • Troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, electronics (PLC’s), and hydraulic systems and providing immediate corrective maintenance support to production lines, conveyor belts, and ancillary production equipment.
  • Checking and maintaining proper fluid levels in various pieces of equipment.
  • Performing overhauls of existing production equipment.
  • Maintaining and repairing ammonia refrigeration equipment.
  • Installing new production equipment.
  • Reading and interpreting equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Complying with OSHA Safety and Health rules.
  • This position is responsible for the food safety of our products

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Associates Degree or equivalent experience in industrial maintenance ideally in a food environment
  • Experience working with ammonia refrigeration.

Physical Abilities:

  • Standing up to 12 hours per day.
  • Moving and lifting objects weighing up to 50 lbs. regularly.
  • Bending, twisting, reaching and grasping actions.
  • Good spatial awareness working around manufacturing equipment.

Freezer Technician

A Ziegenfelder Freezer Technician is responsible for:

  • Pulling finished products from the production conveyor belt and stacking on pallets properly.
  • Checking all products to ensure proper coding.
  • Ensuring proper amount of product is neatly stacked on pallets and all boxes on the pallet meet quality standards.
  • Wrapping palletized product with plastic stretch wrap.
  • Ensuring proper tags are printed and posted on all palletized products.
  • Ensuring that inventory is properly entered in appropriate inventory tracking systems.
  • Ensuring all palletized product is properly located in warehouse for picking.
  • Picking palletized product for shipping.
  • Communicating with operations to ensure correct amount of raw materials are readily available for each shift.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 - 3 years of warehouse experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to read, write and speak English.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate electric powered forklifts and electric powered pallet jacks.
  • Must be able to work in cold temperatures.
  • Must be available to work all shifts to include weekends and holidays.

Physical Abilities:

  • Possesses visual acuity to safely operate forklifts and pallet jacks.
  • May need to exert up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, up to 30 lbs. of force frequently, and up to 10 lbs. of force constantly.
  • May need to climb, balance, stoop, crouch, reach, stand, push, and pull frequently during a shift.

Maintenance Manager

A Ziegenfelder Maintenance Manager is responsible for:

  • Managing and leading all Maintenance Technicians at a Ziegenfelder manufacturing location.
  • Utilizing our CMMS system to plan for predictive and preventative maintenance activities.
  • Facilitating proactive interaction with all internal departments, to ensure proactive maintenance activity.
  • Leading creation and implementation of Preventative Maintenance Program for the company.
  • Ensuring production equipment is set up and maintained to produce quality Ziegenfelder treats ready for delivery to customers.
  • Troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, electronics (PLC’s), and hydraulic systems and providing immediate corrective maintenance support to production lines, conveyor belts, and ancillary production equipment.
  • Leading annual vital line rebuild and other projects as required.
  • Preforming overhauls of existing production equipment, maintaining and repairing ammonia refrigeration equipment.
  • Installing new production equipment.
  • Reading and interpreting equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Associates Degree or equivalent experience in industrial maintenance, ideally in a food environment.
  • Electrical experience and experience in industrial control systems required.
  • 5-10 years of management/leadership experience in a Maintenance role required.
  • Experience working with ammonia refrigeration is a plus.

Plant Engineer

The Ziegenfelder Plant Engineer is responsible for:

  • Coordinate and direct projects with detailed plans to accomplish goals and oversee the integration of technical and mechanical activities.
  • Plan and lead the installation, testing, operation, preventative maintenance, maintenance and repair of production, auxiliary, and overall facility equipment to create a streamlined and effective process.
  • Provide guidance and inspire the work of our maintenance tribe, collaborating closely on the training and development of maintenance staff competencies.
  • Develop, document and implement policies, standards and procedures for the preventative maintenance, engineering and technical work performed.
  • Perform administrative functions such as reviewing and writing reports, approving expenditures, and making decisions regarding purchases of materials or services.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Knowledge and demonstrated application of fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of design engineering
  • Experience with large manufacturing equipment, preferably in the food and beverage industry
  • Ability to manage multiple projects / assignments simultaneously
  • Skilled in team building and demonstrated experience in effectively working with cross functional teams to get positive results
  • Demonstrated experience in analysis and complex problem solving
  • Working knowledge & programming experience in PLC’s and HMI’s, preferably in Allen Bradley
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, AutoCAD or SolidWorks
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (mechanical, electrical, industrial or manufacturing highly preferred)
